SBI PO 2016 selection procedure and Syllabus

  1. Phase – I (Preliminary online exam – 100 marks- 1 hour duration)
  2. Phase -II (online Main written exam -Objective test 200 marks- 3 hours + descriptive test 50 marks- 30 min)
  3. Group Discussion (GD) and HR interview (20 marks + 30 marks).

SBI PO 2015 selection procedure

  1. Online Written exam (Preliminary exam – 100 marks- 1 hour duration)
  2. Online written exam (Main exam -Objective test 200 marks- 2hours + descriptive test 50 marks- 1hour)
  3. Group Discussion (GD) and HR interview (20 marks + 30 marks)
  4. Final selection Result

There are three rounds of selection procedure in SBI PO 2015 as online written exam consist of two phases. In phase 1- Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests for 100 marks will be conducted online. Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing passing marks to be decided by the Bank.

Cut off mark: Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Bank (approximately 20 times the numbers of vacancies subject to availability) and cut off will be calculated.

In Phase II- This is one more online written test those who cleared Preliminary Examination will be short listed for the Main Examination.

Final result: The candidates will have to qualify both in Phase-II and Phase-III separately. Marks secured by the candidates in the Written Test (out of 250 marks) are converted to out of 75 and marks secured in Group Discussion & Interview (out of 50 marks) are converted to out of 25.

 SBI PO 2015 syllabus and exam pattern

Round 1: Preliminary Exam: 100 marks in 1 hour Duration

English Language 2.Quantitative Aptitude and 3. Reasoning Ability

Round 2: Objective Test: The Objective Test of 2 hour duration consists of 4 Sections with 50 marks each (Total 200 marks) as follows:

  1. a) English Language (Grammar, Vocabulary, Comprehension etc.)
  2. b) General Awareness, Marketing & Computers
  3. c) Data Analysis & Interpretation
  4. d) Reasoning (High Level)

Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test of 1 hour duration with 50 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay).

Note: The candidates are required to qualify in the each of the test by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.

Round 3: Group Discussion (20 marks) & Interview (30 marks)

The Selected candidate from descriptive test will be called for Group Discussion and Interview by bank official for GD and HR interview. The qualifying marks in Group Discussion & Interview will be as decided by the Bank.

Note: Candidates qualifying for GD & Interview under ‘OBC’ category would be required to submit OBC certificate containing the ‘Non Creamy layer’ clause. Candidates not submitting the OBC certificate containing the ‘Non Creamy layer’ clause and requesting to be interviewed under General category will not be entertained.
